We are a rapidly growing company at the forefront of the lighting industry, and we're looking for a detail-oriented Product Structure Development Designer to join our dynamic Product Development team. In this pivotal role, you’ll be responsible for building and managing precise product structures (BOMs) for our innovative lighting products—from concept to mass production. You’ll play a key role in ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and collaboration across design, engineering, purchasing, and manufacturing teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop and Maintain Product Structures: Create and manage comprehensive Bills of Materials (BOMs) for lighting components including fixtures, drivers, housings, and lenses.
- Translate Engineering Data: Convert complex engineering drawings and CAD models into structured, accurate product data within our PLM systems.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with design, engineering, purchasing, and manufacturing to maintain integrity and alignment of product data.
- Change Management: Manage product updates through Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and Engineering Change Notices (ECNs).
- Configuration Oversight: Handle product variants—such as colour, wattage, and mounting options—ensuring data consistency across configurations.
- Production Support: Drive smooth transitions of new products from design phase to high-volume manufacturing.
Must Have
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Industrial Design.
- Experience: 2–3+ years of experience in BOM management, product structure development, or PLM in lighting or electronics manufacturing.
- PLM Systems: Hands-on experience with Teamcenter, Windchill, ENOVIA, or similar PLM platforms.
- CAD Skills: Proficient in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Creo.
- Lighting Knowledge: Familiarity with LEDs, drivers, optics, housings, and other key lighting components.
- Analytical Mindset: Exceptional attention to detail, with a methodical and organized approach to managing data and solving problems.
Nice to have
- Experience in high-volume manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with lighting industry standards (IEC, UL).
- Experience with ERP systems such as Odoo.
- Understanding of configuration rules and version control practices.
